One beautiful Day-Tour of Tel Aviv, Jaffa 20,01,- 2013

The Danish "Mellem Folklig Samvirke" group www.ms@dk, all together 11 people (2 boys and 9gils ) joined me as a bicycle guide today on a full-day bicycle ride from Old Jaffa Hostel to Tel Aviv, We rented bikes at Wheel Bee Bike Rentel, uppersite Abulafia Bakery www.news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7388445.stm at the clock tower in Jaffa www.wheelbee.com ,which are renting bikes out for NIS 75, 00 for a full day, including a lock and a helmet. The bikes are in good conditions and well maintained and are mix mountain and hybrid bikes.

We started our Tour by bicycling North on the Latayalet at the Sea front and went passing the American Embassy www.israel.usembassy.gov and the very famous Mikes Place
www.mikesplacebars.com/

www.telavivguide.net/.../Tel_Aviv_Port_2006022 and the whole hanger area, which is very alive on a Sabbath and full of people in the resturants and cafees . We made a break at the kind of Farmers Market
www.farmersmarket.co.il/bloge/?page_id=136  offering specialities of organic food, wine, cheeses We desided only to stay there for 10 - 15 minutes but you can easy stay there for 45 minutes or more. We enjoyed one on the spot freshly made juices, pomegranat and lemon, very delicious. We continued to Yarkon River www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarkon_River -, over the bridge close to the power plant. On the other side we went East along the river and past the tennis court and the kayak statiúm and went to the Sportekwww.lonelyplanet.com/israel.../tel-aviv/.../sportek area where a big group of israelies were dancing a traditional Folk dance, which by the years have become quite strong among older as well as young people. We continued to the other side of the Yarkon River and went West again and passed the progressive Synagoge at Beit Daniel http://www.beit-daniel.org.il/ Where we met a very interesting Dutch women who showed us around and showed us the Torah Scroll and and read a bite of the Torah. She have been in Israel for some 59-years, very strong women and nice. We walked around this neighborhood before we enter the Synagoge due to a Bar Mitzva and we enjoyed a very nice lunch at Ibn Gvirol at a cafe restaurant for around NIS 40 - 60 for sandwiches and I had a israeli salat for NIS 36,00 with bread, quite nice. We walked North on Ibn Gvirol back to the Yarkon River and walked East back to the Synagoge. So after the nice meeting with the Dutch women, who asked us Dane if we could hear where she was from and she was quite chocked when we said Holland. There is something about Dutch people and language, you can just hear it.We back- tracked passing the Restaurant on Ibn Gvirol again but this time on the bicycles and continued to Kikar Rabin, Rabin Square to the memoral stone plate of Yitzhak Rabin and the assesination of Yitzha Rabin. Hereafter we contunued to Tel Aviv concert Hall, Tel Aviv’s mammoth Mann Auditorium,www.haaretz.com/.../what-s-all-the-noise-about-at which for years have been going a heavy restoration and is now nearly done and to Rothschield bouleward, in The White City and Bauhaus area. On Allenby, General Allenby we went East towards the old bus station and the area which is up for discussion right now here in Israel, due to its large amont of refugees, from Somalia, Eteriam who some cleams that are Jewish and some not. The is a park there and it is alway busy during Sabbath.

From the Old Bus Staion in Tel Aviv we bicycled to Florentien aream a very hip area and where you can find many Arthist living as well as Cafees Restaurants and bars. Here you can also find Florentien Hostel florentinehostel.com and my friend Raffi, the owner. The group were quite tired so me made a last stop at the Jaffa Railway Station en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Railway_Station which for some years ago have been complete restored and is the oldest in the world. Now there is a kind of Farmers Market here as well. It is well visit during Sabbath.

We bicycled back to the bicycle shop Wheel Bee along the coast and gave in the bicyles after a long and tiring day of around 8-hours and around 30-km. Very nice and a very beautiful day to be on a bicycle in Tel Aviv. I hope to see you all again one day. Thank you to the Danish group for joining the tour.
